Meet Dr. Nina

Nina F. Anderson, DNP, RN, FNP-BC is executive director and founder of TOVA Community Health, Inc., and an advanced practice nurse care coordinator and nurse Consultant at TOVA Healthcare in Wilmington, DE. She previously served as director of the Adolescent and Young Adult Interdisciplinary Transition Program in the Marian Anderson Comprehensive Sickle Cell Care and Research Center at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Anderson received her nursing training at the University of Delaware, School of Nursing in Newark and her doctorate in nursing from Thomas Jefferson University College of Nursing in Philadelphia.

Dr. Anderson is a member of the American Society of Hematology and Sickle Cell Adult Provider Network. She founded the Tova Awards and the James Faucett III Sickle Cell Awareness 5K Walk/Run, the TOVA Awards and the TOVA Global World Sickle Cell Day symposium. Dr. Anderson has published peer-reviewed articles and given presentations on Sickle Cell Disease nationwide. She is a renowned Sickle Cell Expert who developed a telehealth model in partnership with Johns Hopkins University to increase access to specialty care which has been nationally recognized. In 2017, Dr. Anderson won the Delaware Woman Owned Small Business of the Year award. She has been named best Holistic Health Practitioner from 2020 to 2024. In her spare time, Nina is an accomplished Violinist, serves on the board of the Music School of Delaware, enjoys running 5Ks, attending concerts at the Kimmel Center, and spending time with her family and friends.
